A native plant to the Southern Asian territories including Thailand, the Andrographis paniculata possesses anti-pyretic, anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory properties that have yet to be fully discovered. We came to the lab prepared with our lab coats and eager to get started. First half of the day was spent grinding up our plant, stem and leaves, to a fine powder using standard laboratory blenders taking occasional breaks so as to not overheat the equipment. We were all covered with the green powder way before lunch time. After we got our raw product, we measured its flow, density and prepared 100 capsules as part of QA/QC. By randomly selecting 20 capsules we confirmed the weight variation of the capsules with an allowable error of less than 10% according to Thai Pharmacopeia guidelines. For dinner our friend from the lab surprised us by introducing us to Thai barbecue that was too good. We'll likely be back for more!
