The Faculty of Pharmacy at Rangsit University treated us to another manufacturing facility visit, this time to a cosmetic manufacturer, Giffarine. We had the pleasure of visiting their factory, seeing and learning about their manufacturing process, and also learned about the history of the company from their Vice President, Jaitip Paiboon, MD. Their products include beauty and person care, make-up cosmetics, household products, health care and wellness, and food products. It is a family owned business of Medical Doctors that started as a small factory that has now grown to produce 20 million pieces per month and export their products to 40 countries around the world. Giffarine's market is built upon direct-to-consumer sales with over 7.3 million consumers. In their factory we observed their product development, quality control and production line. To me, the most exciting part of our tour was seeing how lipstick is manufactured! We weren't able to take pictures, but I can assure you it was cool! And, as with our last manufacturer visit, they did not leave us empty-handed. We were gifted an abundance of samples!
